The University Claims Office at EKU would like to wish you and your family a very safe and Happy Holiday!
With the Holiday Season already here the University Claims Office would like to remind you that your safety is top priority. We would like to leave you with some tips to have a safe winter season.
- Keep in mind that ice may form in unexpected places. Wear insulated, rubber soled boots to keep your feet warm and prevent slipping on ice.
- Leave your house early enough to allow time for icy road conditions and traffic build up.
- Always wear a warm coat, gloves, and hat whenever going outside.
- Keep blankets, hand warmers, and flares in your vehicle in case of a breakdown.
- When snow and ice forms outside, it results in slippery wet floors inside. Whenever you enter a building, bear in mind that the floor could be slick and hazardous.
- If you are injured on Eastern Kentucky University's campus report the injury to the University Claims Office immediately.
We hope these quick tips help you to make the best of this winter weather.
